Challenge #53

Ahh, spring is in the air! We are celebrating Spring with an Ad Challenge. Our DT was challenged with creating a layout based on this vintage Vogue cover:

I also have a sad announcement... this will be the last regularly-scheduled challenge posted here on the Paper Thrills Challenge Blog. I started this blog as a repository for ideas, challenges that I, myself wanted to eventually try as I scrapbooked my way through life. I have been doing a lot of soul-searching and the truth is, I haven't been able to scrapbook regularly for over a year because life has taken such a drastic turn and thrown me into ll sorts of things. Running this blog has become more like a chore. I am forever grateful to my Design Team for their hard work in helping me with my challenges, but I feel it's not fair to them when I am not able to get things up in a timely manner. Therefore, it is my decision to discontinue the weekly challenges on this blog. I will leave the challenges up on the site that are here already, so everyone may benefit from them, and I will be possibly adding some when I get a chance to, either here or on our facebook page. I want to keep my options open, so I may start it up again when life calms down, but, for now, there will be no new challenges posted.

Challenge #36

Since last we had Black Friday & Cyber Monday, the theme of this week's challenge is shopping! But not just any kind of shopping, it's an Ad Challenge! Our DT was challenged with choosing a store's ad ad adapting it to their layout. I find it kinda funny that the ads of choice were both Target ads...

Challenge #19

One of my favorite parts of Summer is watching old monster/ sci-fi movies at an outdoor cinema, so for today's challenge, our DT used this old movie poster as an ad-inspiration of sorts for their layouts!

Challenge #18 - image problem fixed! :)

Sorry this challenge is up a day late- I totally lost track of time yesterday getting ready for vacation :)
This week's challenge is an ad challenge of sorts. What says summer more than a great concert? Your challenge is to create a layout using this vintage concert poster as inspiration:

Challenge #5

I ran across this vintage ad and knew I had to use it in a challenge. My challenge to you this time is to not only be inspired by the design of it, but also the colors!

You may be seeing some sketches of a different kind on here soon as well... I got my hands on a textbook of ad layouts for an old Graphics Design Course from back in the 60s.

I want to start off the weekly challenges with one of my favorite types of challenges: an ad challenge. What I love about advertising is that everything on an ad is placed with consideration to what the other content will be.
